About Panya Code
Teaching AI development the way it is actually done
We are a small team of practitioners in Bangkok who wanted to offer something more considered than the average online course — programmes that move at the pace of a working person's life.

How Panya Code came to be
Panya Code started in early 2023 as a conversation between three people who had each spent years doing applied data and AI work in Bangkok — one in financial services, one in e-commerce logistics, and one who had spent the previous several years teaching programming at a university in Chiang Mai. The conversation was about something they kept noticing: there were plenty of online courses on AI topics, but most of them were either too shallow to be useful in a real project, or they were designed for someone with a lot of unstructured time. Neither described the engineers and analysts they worked alongside.
The name came from a word that felt right for what we were trying to do. Panya (ปัญญา) is a Thai term for wisdom or understanding — not the accumulation of information, but the kind of understanding that comes from working through something carefully. That is what we were hoping to build programmes around.
The first cohort ran in September 2023 with eleven learners across the Python and Data Fundamentals programme. The feedback from that group shaped most of what we do now: the emphasis on recorded walk-throughs for review between sessions, the small cohort size, the decision to keep office hours genuinely open rather than structured around pre-set topics. We have run cohorts every quarter since and added the Machine Learning Track and the Engineering Programme in 2024.
We operate from Bangkok's Sukhumvit area and our sessions are online, which means learners can join from anywhere in Thailand — or from outside the country if the time zone works for them.
What we believe
Three things we keep coming back to
Pace matters
Learning that suits someone who works full-time looks different from a bootcamp. Each week has a clearly bounded scope. Learners should be able to plan their week rather than spend it catching up.
Work is the curriculum
We believe the gap between theory and practice closes fastest when learners are working with real data and real tools from the first session. Projects are not optional extras — they are the main event.
Questions deserve direct answers
Office hours exist so learners can get a direct, specific answer to a specific question — not a link to further reading. Keeping cohorts small makes that kind of conversation possible.
The team
The people behind the programmes
Krit Phongpan
Lead Instructor — Data & ML
Krit spent eight years in data science roles in financial services before moving into teaching. He leads the Python Fundamentals cohort and the Machine Learning Track, and writes most of the weekly project briefs.
Siriwan Wattana
Lead Instructor — Engineering
Siriwan works in AI infrastructure for a logistics company and leads the End-to-End Engineering Programme. She brings a production focus to every session — deployment, observability, and the habits that make AI systems maintainable.
Anan Siripat
Curriculum and Learner Support
Anan came from university teaching and takes care of curriculum design, recorded walk-throughs, and the learner support side of the school. He answers most of the day-to-day emails and makes sure the pacing holds across a cohort.
How we work
Standards we hold ourselves to
Learner data protection
We collect only what is needed to run a programme. Learner information is not shared with third parties or used for purposes unrelated to the cohort.
Honest scope
We describe what each programme covers and what it does not. We do not promise career outcomes or credentials that fall outside what the programme actually delivers.
Curriculum review each cycle
After each cohort we review the project briefs, the session recordings, and any feedback from learners. Content is updated before the next intake runs.
Tools used in practice
Every tool in the curriculum is one that is used in current professional work. We avoid introducing frameworks or libraries that are primarily associated with tutorial content.
Teaching by practitioners
All instructors are active in the field. This means the examples, the edge cases, and the decisions discussed in sessions come from recent professional experience.
Clear refund terms
Our refund and withdrawal terms are set out clearly before enrolment. Learners are not asked to commit without having read them. See our Terms & Conditions for the full details.
Approach
Applied AI learning in Bangkok — a longer view
The AI development space moves quickly, and a lot of educational content reflects that pace in unhelpful ways — chasing each new release, restructuring courses around headlines rather than durable skills. At Panya Code, we try to build programmes around the parts of the work that stay stable: how to reason about data, how to evaluate a model honestly, how to build something that other people can maintain. These are the things that learners from our earlier cohorts have told us were most useful when they returned to their own projects.
We are also aware that learners in Bangkok and across Thailand have a different situation from someone taking a course in San Francisco or London. Employment schedules here often involve later working hours, and many of our learners are commuting significant distances. The part-time, asynchronous-first structure of our programmes reflects that. Live sessions are scheduled for weekend mornings or weekday evenings, and all recordings are available for the duration of the cohort.
Applied machine learning and AI engineering are not short subjects, and we do not try to make them seem shorter than they are. What we can offer is a structured, supported path through material that is genuinely useful — with a teaching team that has worked on the kinds of problems our learners want to work on themselves.
